ALLEGHENY LUDLUM: FAVORABLE CONCLUSION OF LAWSUIT

 PITTSBURGH, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Allegheny Ludlum Corporation (NYSE: ALS) today announced the favorable conclusion of a lawsuit filed by two retired former employees of the company.
 The company stated that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court had denied a petition for allowance of appeal filed by the plaintiffs in the case. The lawsuit involved the company's purchase of company common stock from the plaintiffs in 1986 pursuant to a buy-sell arrangement. At a trial in 1991, a jury completely exonerated the company and Richard P. Simmons, its chairman, of all charges against them.
 Allegheny Ludlum is a leading producer of a wide range of specialty materials, including stainless steels, electrical steels, tool steels and high technology alloys.
