ALL-STAR BASEBALL: THE STARS ARE OUT : TOP AREA SENIORS TO PLAY IN ROTARY GAME.

Organizers wanted the 25th annual Larry Lake West Rotary All-Star Baseball All-Star Baseball is a baseball video game series developed and published by Acclaim Entertainment. The series began in 1998 with the release of All-Star Baseball '99.  Game to be a better show this season. A survey of the team rosters seems to bolster their hopes.

More players than ever before appear worthy of playing at Lancaster Municipal Stadium.

Sunday's 2 p.m. game features the majority of the region's best graduating seniors - not just some of the best players, which has been a problem in years past.

``I think it's going to be a pretty good game to watch this time,'' said coach Dean Spoestra of Desert Christian, who will guide the Gold team against the Blue team. ``They've really set up an all-star game An all-star game is an exhibition game played by the best players in their sports league. The players are often chosen by a popular vote of fans of the sport and the game often occurs at the halfway point of the regular season, although this is not the case for some all-star games  with a lot of talent, not just a showcase that kind of says, `Here's the seniors.' On paper, it looks like the most competitive game we've seen yet.''

 in the fifth round of the major-league draft on Tuesday, is among the noteworthy starters for the Gold. Testa batted .500 with 11 home runs and recently was named Most Valuable Player of the Golden League.

Testa's teammates include Littlerock catcher Mike Arvizo, who hit 10 home runs this season and eight as a junior. Infielder/pitcher Mark Hendricks Mark Phillip Hendrick (born November 2, 1958) British politician and is the Labour Co-operative Member of Parliament for Preston.

Mark Hendrick, who is half-Somali, was born in Salford, Lancashire and was educated at the Salford Grammar School and the Liverpool Polytechnic
 of Palmdale, outfielder Adam Fabela of Littlerock, pitcher John Felkins of Palmdale and pitcher Jared McAndrews of Desert are some of the other prominent players for the Gold.

``I think they tried to take a different philosophy this year,'' said Blue coach Mike Van Cheri of Highland. ``They didn't put kids on the team this year just because they were seniors. To make it, you really have to be talented.''

Hewson, a first-team All-Golden League selection, also will participate in the Bernie Milligan All-Star Game on June 12 at Cal State Northridge, along with Testa and Brown.

``I'm looking forward to playing at Lancaster Municipal Stadium. It's a nice field,'' Hewson said. ``I've probably been there 12 times watching the JetHawks play, and now I get a chance to play there myself.''

Lancaster coach Doug Martin Doug Martin (born May 22, 1957 in Fairfield, California), is a former American professional football player who was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the 1st round (9th overall) of the 1980 NFL Draft. A 6'3", 258 lbs.  and Paraclete coach Steve Hagerty join Van Cheri. Joe Stephenson Joseph Chester Stephenson (June 30, 1921 - September 20, 2001) was a catcher in Major League Baseball who played for the New York Giants (1943), Chicago Cubs (1944) and Chicago White Sox (1947). Stephenson batted and threw right handed. He is the father of Jerry Stephenson.  of Rosamond and Dennis Henderson of Littlerock are assisting Spoelstra.
