Player of the Year

Kurzeka more than made up for lost time after his transfer from Notre Dame Notre Dame IPA: [nɔtʁ dam] is French for Our Lady, referring to the Virgin Mary. In the United States of America, Notre Dame  of Sherman Oaks made him ineligible to play varsity last year. He led the Marmonte League The Marmonte League is a high school sports league primarily made up of schools from Ventura County. The Marmonte Leauge is part of the CIF Southern Section. Click here to view the league schedule.  in scoring, falling just three goals shy of the Agoura single-season record while helping the Chargers reach new heights as a program.

Kurzeka earned Marmonte Co-MVP and first-team All-Southern Section Div.IV honors. His 119 goals, 52assists and 74 steals were team highs for Agoura, which spent much of the season ranked No. 1 in the division. He also led the team in field blocks and drawn ejections.

``He did everything,'' Agoura coach Dusty Litvak said.

Although it was his first varsity season with the Chargers, Kurzeka entered the campaign surrounded by high expectations and as a well-known target for opponents. He finished the regular season scoring the winning goal on a spectacular back-handed shot against Royal of Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  to clinch a share of Agoura's first league title since 2002.

The Tri-Valley League MVP was a first-team All-Southern Section Div. IV pick for his role in leading the Lions to the league title and a berth in the division quarterfinals. The four-year varsity player leaves as the program's all-time leading scorer, having scored more than 100 goals each of the past two seasons.

Hubbell was the leading scorer for the Marmonte League co-champs, who spent part of the season ranked No. 1 in Div. IV. The driver scored 97 goals with 69 assists and 57 steals to earn a share of Marmonte MVP honors.

TYLER McCLURE

Royal, senior

The speedy, fourth-year varsity player earned a share of Marmonte MVP honors for scoring 83 goals with 43 assists and 86 steals. He was MVP of the El Dorado El Dorado, legendary country of South America

The third-year starter's 382 saves for the Marmonte co-champs were just fourshy of the team single-season record. Paris Paris, in Greek mythology

The Youth National Team player is a repeat All-Area selection. Schwimer was the Wolverines' leading scorer and a top defender in his fourth varsity season.

One of the area's most feared scoring threats, Vick led the Lancers lanc·er

When the Highlanders graduated the Marmonte League's Most Valuable Goalkeeper last season, they worried about Dabrowski's ability to move from junior varsity to fill the void. However, intense work during the summer led to such drastic improvement that Dabrowski was selected Marmonte Co-Most Valuable Goalie. He made 210 saves and had 25 assists.

Agoura

He guided the Chargers to a share of the first Marmonte League title in his four years at the helm. Agoura had even greater success outside of league, beating powers such as Harvard-Westlake of Studio City for the first time and claiming the championship at the San Diego tournament. The Chargers, who led the area in wins, spent much of the season ranked No. 1 in Div. IV and were one of three local teams to advance to the Southern Section Masters tournament.

BRIAN PINGREE

Harvard-Westlake, senior

His experience with the U.S. Youth National Team showed as Pingree formed the backbone of a Wolverines lineup that went undefeated in Mission League play for the 10th year in a row and reached the Southern Section Div. 1 seminfinals. Among his biggest games was the final of the S&R Cup, in which he made 13 saves in a 6-3 victory over Corona del Mar. He posted 18 saves in a win over league rival Loyola of Los Angeles. The All-Southern Section player has committed to Stanford.
