Founded in 1830 it is the fourth oldest scientific zoo in the world, after Tiergarten Schönbrunn in Vienna, London Zoo, . The 11-year-old won a competition to name the first bull elephant born in Ireland - and came up with Budi, which means "wise one" in Indonesian. Cian, from Tallaght in Dublin, said yesterday: "My dad and I thought it was a good name as an elephant never forgets so he would definitely be a 'wise one'." Cian's family have won a VIP Day Out and an annual pass for Dublin Zoo. A spokesman said the staff "were delighted with such a great response".
