IT'S like a sprinter trying to keep up with Usain Bolt or a swimmer trying to catch Michael Phelps.

And when the starting gun is fired on Sir Ian Botham's 13th charity wal k i n a i d o f Leukaemia Research next April, the only question will be: Can anyone keep up with Beefy? Mirror Sport's voice of cricket is dusting down his walking shoes again for another trek taking in 10 towns and cities in as many days to mark the 25th anniversary of his first hike from John O'Groats to Land's End in 1985.

As was the case on his last charity trek 13 months ago, Sir Beefy is inviting members of the public to join him in Manchester, Birmingham, Worcester, Bristol, Winchester, Epsom, Reading, Milton Keynes, Chelmsford and London from April 10-19.

Botham, who will be 54 this month, said: "It's a close call whetherwalking 30 miles a day is harder work than bowling fast for 30 overs in a day.

"But I will be better prepared for thiswalk than I was for the first, when we had no idea what was coming and it took a while to learn you need to apply vaseline in certain areas to make the journey more comfortable."
