Since the event is to benefit schools, the chamber got permission to close Ventura Boulevard to motor vehicles, Frohlich said. ``Usually you can't close it for the entire day.'' Organizers say the fair has raised nearly $100,000 in the previous six years and they hope to add about $25,000 more this weekend. Jazz, Latin, pop and big-band musicians will be on stage at the shows. The fair will have more than 150 booths featuring arts, crafts and information. A new attraction this year is Auto Racing Extra, a half-mile section highlighting the world of auto racing and a portable race track with remote-control racing. Event sponsors include the Daily News, the Sherman Oaks Galleria Sherman Oaks Galleria is a shopping mall and business center located in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood of Los Angeles, California at the corner of Ventura and Sepulveda Boulevards in the San Fernando Valley.
