ALGOR and MatWeb Partner to Provide Expanded Material Property Data.

PITTSBURGH -- ALGOR, Inc., a leading provider of design, analysis and simulation software, announced a new partnership with MatWeb(R), a leading provider of technical material data sheets and a division of Automation Creations, Inc. (ACI) of Blacksburg, Virginia. This partnership provides expanded material property data within ALGOR software, which helps users more accurately simulate a broad range of real-world material behavior when performing finite element analysis Finite element analysis (FEA) is a computer simulation technique used in engineering analysis. It uses a numerical technique called the finite element method (FEM). There are many finite element software packages, both free and proprietary.  (FEA) and Mechanical Event Simulation (MES (Manufacturing Execution Software) Software that provides real time access to plant activities that include equipment, labor, orders and inventory. An MES integrates the data with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems so that management has complete control of ) on product designs.

"MatWeb is the engineering community's leading Internet source of material property data," said Dale Kipp, Ph.D., director of MatWeb. "By partnering with ALGOR, we are providing our database and search engine to more engineers, designers and scientists for their analysis and simulation needs. The ALGOR Material Library Manager's capability to exchange material data with third-party material libraries through XML makes it easy to import custom material properties from MatWeb into ALGOR."

Properties for over 100 materials provided by MatWeb have already been added to the ALGOR Material Library Manager included free with all ALGOR core packages. In addition, the ALGOR Material Library Manager provides the capability to automatically import custom material properties from the entire MatWeb database of more than 42,000 materials including metals, plastics, ceramics, composites and other engineering materials.

"We are pleased to provide our users with direct and easy access to an industry-leading resource for material property data. This new partnership with MatWeb significantly increases the number of materials available in our default material library and allows our users to easily apply properties for materials ranging from AISI AISI American Iron and Steel Institute
AISI African Information Society Initiative
AISI Alberta Initiative for School Improvement (Canada)
AISI As I See It
