ALGERIA - Oil Pipelines.

The 30-inch Nezla OH3 pipeline was commissioned in December 1998 to carry crude oil from Anadarko's prolific Hassi Berkine South (HBKS) field to Algeria's export system. The pipeline can carry up to 300,000 b/d. In Jan. 2001 ABB Lummus Global won a $69.9m contract to raise OH3's capacity to 500,000 b/d. The 290 km line links HBKS to the Haoud El Hamra oil dispatching terminal in the Sahara.

In late 2000, a $335m contract went to a Spie Capag-Saipem partnership to build the pumping facilities of OZ2 pipeline to expand the "oil corridor" from Haoud El Hamra to Arzew by 2002 in a $1 bn project. The pipeline is being built by the local Cosider BRC and Stroytransgaz of Russia.
