ALFALFA AND BUCKWHEAT, CALL YOUR AGENTS -- UNIVERSAL PICTURES ANNOUNCES OPEN CASTING CALL FOR 'THE LITTLE RASCALS'

 UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Pictures will conduct open casting calls in New York and Seattle on Saturday, Dec. 4, and in Chicago on Sunday, Dec. 5, for children to star as the new Spanky and Our Gang in the forthcoming motion picture comedy "The Little Rascals."
 The casting will be held in New York from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Joseph's School, 111 Washington Place, between 6th and 7th avenues in Greenwich Village, Manhattan; in Seattle from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Seattle Grip and Lighting Co., 1050 W. Nickerson St.; and in Chicago from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2501 W. Addison. No appointments or telephone calls are necessary.
 No acting experience is required. However, children wishing to audition must resemble the original cast of the "Little Rascals" shorts. Audition will be held for the following roles: Spanky (5-8 years, chubby), Alfalfa (5-9 years, lanky), Butch (6-9 years, a bully), Buckwheat (4-6 years, African-American), Stymie (5-9 years, African- American), Waldo (5-8 years), and Darla (5-8 years, pretty, not limited to brunettes).
 "The Little Rascals" is a joint production from Amblin Entertainment and King World Entertainment. Executive producers are Steven Spielberg, Gerald R. Mullen, and Roger King. Producers are Michael King and William Oakes. Mark Allan is co-producer. Penelope Spheeris ("The Beverly Hillbillies," "Wayne's World") will direct. The film will be released by Universal Pictures.
