ALEMANY DOESN'T NEED BEST TO ROUT CANYON : ALEMANY 48 CANYON 14.

Seven of Clausen's completions were for more than 30 yards; three were more than 40.

Alemany built a 28-0 lead before Canyon (1-4) and its ground-based offense scored with 5 seconds left in the half.

Any hopes Canyon had of sneaking back were quickly dashed when DeAndre Scott took a screen pass and went 68 yards for a score on the first play of the second half.

The Indians' defense allowed nearly 200 yards on the ground and the team was flagged for 86 yards in penalties.

``We have a few corrections to make,'' said Alemany coach Jim Bonds Jim L. Bond (born 1936) is a minister and emeritus general superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene. . ``It's important to eliminate those mistakes before they hurt us.''
