ALDUS SHAREHOLDER LAWSUIT SETTLED

SEATTLE, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Aldus Corp. (NASDAQ: ALDC) and Steve W. Berman, attorney for a class of shareholders who brought suit against the company, today announced that they have agreed to a settlement of the securities lawsuit filed last year.
Pursuant to the terms of the settlement, Aldus will pay between approximately 50 cents and $1.10 per share for shares purchased between March 14, 1991 and June 22, 1992 and determined through a claims filing procedure to be eligible for recovery.
The exact amount paid will depend on when shares were purchased and sold, and the number of eligible shares participating in the settlement. Aldus indicated that a substantial portion of the settlement will be funded by its insurer and that the cost to the company of the settlement will be within previously reserved amounts. The settlement is subject to the approval of Federal District Court Judge John C. Coughenour.
