ALCOPOPS LOSE FIZZ.Byline: Alasdair Northrop SALES of once-trendy alcopops have been slashed by half in the last four years, it was revealed yesterday. Figures show the market for the pre-mixed cocktail drinks fell from around pounds 800million a year in 2005 to pounds 405million last year. Last year alone saw a 14 per cent drop in sales and a small drop in the number of pubs stocking drinks including Smirnoff Ice, Bacardi Breezer Bacardi Breezer, Breezer for short, is a rum-based alcoholic beverage with 4% alcohol (5% in Australasia and Canada). It comes in a variety of fruit flavours: lemon, pineapple, apple, rubygrapefruit, lime, orange, watermelon, cranberry, coconut, orange light, lemon light and the and WKD WKD Weekend WKD Wicked . The more recent trend of having cider with ice has proved popular with young drinkers.. |
