ALCOHOL-RELATED CRASH INJURES BROSNAN'S SON.

MALIBU - The 13-year-old son of actor Pierce Brosnan was in stable but guarded condition Saturday after being injured in a drunk-driving related crash that sent the sport-utility vehicle he was riding in over an embankment, California Highway Patrol officers said.

Sean Brosnan was the most seriously injured of the six boys and young men riding in a 1982 Chevy Blazer driven by Sean's 19-year-old cousin, James P. Hall.

Hall was treated for minor injuries and was booked into Lost Hills sheriff's station on suspicion of felony driving under the influence. His other passengers, brother Anthony Hall, 16, Cory Escobar, 19, Morgan Meyer, 20 - all Malibu residents - and Robert Laird, 18, from England, were treated for minor injuries.

Sean was airlifted to UCLA Medical Center, where he underwent surgery to repair multiple fractures and spinal injuries. His father, the most recent actor to portray James Bond, arrived on the scene after being contacted about the crash and rode in the helicopter with his son to the hospital.

CHP officials said Hall told them he was driving along Dume Mountain Road, a private road east of Kanan-Dume Road, at about 3:45 a.m., when he swerved to avoid a rock on the ground. He lost control of the truck and it plunged 150 to 200 feet through heavy vegetation, officials said.
