Alcatel and Sun Microsystems Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ: JAVA[3]) is an American vendor of computers, computer components, computer software, and information-technology services, founded on 24 February 1982. Inc this week announced plans to work
together to develop software for consumer internet devices. The two
companies said the partnership was based on their desire to

based on Sun's JavaOS for Consumers. The product provides complete

with support for JavaScript technology. "There will be joint
development now and going forward, but not on the hardware side."
