Maximo Park Quicken The Heart ****

At last, Maximo Park are set to get the success they deserve with an album that is competing with Lady Gaga's The Fame and Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown for the No1 spot on Sunday. If successful, as well as toppling Dylan's Together Through Life, it will go one better than 2007's Our Earthly Pleasures, which reached No 2. Somewhere between The Jam and Roxy Music Roxy Music is an English art rock group founded in the early 1970s by art school graduate Bryan Ferry (vocals and keyboards). The other members are Phil Manzanera (guitars), Andy Mackay (saxophone and oboe) and Paul Thompson (drums and percussion). , the songs have a darker indie edge, but one still gets the feeling Maximo have yet to make the album we're waiting for. As an example, Roller Disco A roller disco is a discothèque where all the dancers wear roller skates of some kind (traditional quad or inline). The music played is modern and easily danceable, historically disco but in modern times including almost any form of dance music or pop music.  Dreams is XTC's Making Plans For Nigel without the melody one craves.
