It naturally makes Albert a team leader and her selection as captain has cemented that fact. ``Kimberly is a very smart girl,'' said La Reina coach Joe Laranetta. ``She's not the quickest player, but she knows what she is doing out there. She anticipates really well and that helps her be in the right place at the right time.'' With so many freshmen, who are talented but lack experience, Laranetta basically lets Albert do her thing on the field. ``Kimberly has no fear on the field,'' Laranetta said. ``I don't have to worry about her. She's always going to do what the team needs her to do.'' Said teammate Monica Thompson: ``Kimberly is a very tough player and is a leader for our team. She doesn't hesitate to let someone know when she sees something that is not going right.'' Laranetta said Albert, who plays sweeper, is the best he has had at that position since Jen Brant brant or brant goose, common name for a species of wild sea goose. All factors that should ensure success for Albert after high school. ``It's my goal to get a scholarship to play soccer in college,'' Albert said. ``I love the game and want to continue playing after I graduate.'' Albert didn't play softball softball, variant of baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. It shows in her unselfish play and willingness to play anywhere Laranetta asks. ``On Monday it was our first game in three weeks,'' she said. ``I had been sick for most of that time and coach moved me to center-mid.
