ALBANY HERALD SWITCHES TO MORNING EDITION

ALBANY, Ga., March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Gray Communications Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: GCOM) of Albany announced that its newspaper, The Albany Herald, will convert to a morning publication.
The newspaper will be delivered to homes by 6:30 a.m. each day beginning Monday, March 29. The 102-year-old newspaper had long been an afternoon paper, Monday through Saturday, with a morning Sunday edition. In recent years, the Saturday edition was delivered in the morning.
The Albany Herald, southwest Georgia's largest newspaper, will also feature a new look at the same time of the conversion.
The new Herald will include a full page of stock table listings, a half page of daily television schedules, many new columnists and a revised weather package. The Associated Press financial wire is being added to offer more business news, and the wire service graphics system will enable the paper to illustrate news. A few changes, such as a new, larger typeface for easier reading, a redesigned editorial page and expanded sports and comics pages, have already been implemented.
"We're really excited about what a morning paper can be to the town and area," said General Manager Christian R. Schilt. "The content of the new paper will be more complete, and we will be able to do a much better job for all the people who read us."
Company officials are confident readers will find the entire product substantially more appealing, both in appearance and content.
Gray Communications Systems, Inc. is a holding company located in Albany, which, in addition to The Albany Herald, operates three VHF, NBC-affiliated television stations -- WALB-TV located in Albany, WJHG-TV in Panama City, Fla., and KTVE in Monroe, La.
