 ALASKA AIRLINES, HORIZON AIR POST JANUARY TRAFFIC RESULTS
 SEATTLE, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was released today by Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air:
 ALASKA POSTS JANUARY TRAFFIC RESULTS
 Alaska Airlines, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK; PSE), reported today that its January traffic increased 10 percent to 383.3 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) from the 347.4 million flown a year earlier. The passenger load factor (the percentage of available seats occupied by fare-paying passengers) for the month was 48.6 percent, down from 50.1 percent in January 1991.
 Capacity during January was 789.2 million available seat miles (ASMs), 14 percent above the 692.9 million in January 1991. The airline carried 423,300 passengers in January, compared to 412,800 in January 1991.
 Alaska Airlines serves 38 cities in Alaska, Mexico, Canada, Russia and five Western states.
 HORIZON AIR REPORTS JANUARY TRAFFIC RESULTS
 Horizon Air, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK; PSE), reported today that its January traffic increased 14 percent to 32.8 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) from the 28.8 million flown a year earlier. The passenger load factor (the percentage of available seats occupied by fare-paying passengers) for the month was 46.5 percent, compared to 47.1 percent recorded in January 1991.
 The airline carried 160,989 passengers in January, an 11-percent increase from the 144,987 carried in January 1991. Capacity during the month was 70.4 million available seat miles (ASMs), compared to 61.2 million in January 1991.
 Horizon serves 34 cities in five states and Canada.
