ALARIS Medical Inc. Elects Hank Brown to Board of Directors.

ALARIS Medical Inc., (AMEX:AMI) today announced that Hank Brown has been elected to serve as a member of its Board of Directors.

Brown is currently the president of the University of Northern Colorado, serving in this capacity since July 1998. Before becoming UNC's president, he served Colorado in the U.S. Senate from 1990 until 1997. Before the Senate, Brown served five consecutive terms in the U.S. House of Representatives (1980-1990), representing Colorado's 4th Congressional District. He also served in the Colorado State Senate from 1972-1976.

Brown earned a Bachelor's Degree in accounting from the University of Colorado in 1961, a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Colorado Law School in 1969, and a Master of Law Degree in 1986 from George Washington University. Brown is also a certified public accountant. Brown served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1966 and was decorated for service in Vietnam. He was a vice president of Monfort of Colorado, a leading company in the meat packing industry, from 1968 to 1980.

His election expands the ALARIS Medical Inc. Board of Directors from five to six members.
