This agreement follows a September 1997 agreement with VENETEC to distribute StatLock devices in key health care markets outside North America, including European Union European Union (EU), name given since the ratification (Nov., 1993) of the Treaty of European Union, or Maastricht Treaty, to the European Community countries, Australia and the Middle East. VENETEC's products, all sold under the StatLock brand name, are used for catheter securement, replacing the need for taping or suturing of the intravenous (IV) line or catheter to the patient.
