Alarcon accused Katz of improperly using the names of four people in materials sent out during the campaign. Katz responded that he initially was told the four did support him but withdrew their names from literature when they objected. ``I ran into these people and they told me they were supporting me,'' Katz said. ``I took them at their word. When we got these letters a month ago, we immediately stopped using their names.'' The four are Juanita DeSosa and her husband, Jose, former president of the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills.
