ALANA GRACE TO SING AT FAIR.

LANCASTER -- Eighteen-year-old singer and songwriter Alana Grace has been added as the opening act for Ashlee Simpson at the Antelope Valley Fair.

Grace, a Los Angeles native who grew up in Nashville, is best known for her song ``Black Roses Red'' on the ``Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants'' movie soundtrack. Teen People magazine called her ``the next Alanis Morissette.''

Simpson and Grace will perform Aug. 26, starting at 7:30 p.m. Grandstand seating is free with fair admission. Reserved seats are $30 and $65.

Grace joins a fair concert lineup that will include country music icon Willie Nelson, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Lynyrd Skynyrd and Grammy winner Train.

Also performing will be country vocalist Sara Evans; Josh Gracin, a finalist in the second season of ``American Idol''; and Latino singers El Chapo de Sinaloa Sinaloa (sēnälō`ä), state (1990 pop. 2,204,054), 22,582 sq mi (58,487 sq km), W Mexico, on the Gulf of California and the Pacific Ocean. Culiacán is the capital., with Jenni Rivera. The fair will run from Aug. 25 to Sept. 4 at the fairgrounds, 2551 W. Ave. H.

Fair admission for adults and teens will be $1 more than last year: $8 for those age 12 and older, $5 for children ages 6 to 11, and $5 for seniors past 62. Children under age 6 will get in free, as will active-duty military personnel with military identification.

Concert grandstand seating is included with fair admission. Reserved seats closer to the stage can be purchased for $25 to $65, depending on the concert.

Train will perform Aug. 25, the fair's opening night. Reserved seats cost $35 and $65.

El Chapo de Sinaloa and Jenni Rivera will perform Aug. 27, when all seats will be free with that Pay One Price Day admission of $15, which includes carnival rides.

Nelson will perform Aug. 28. Reserved seats cost $30 and $65.

Lynyrd Skynyrd will perform Aug. 29. Reserved seats cost $25 and $50.

Evans and Gracin will perform Aug. 30. Reserved seats cost $25 and $50.

All concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m.
