ALAMO AND HILTON FORM A REWARDING PARTNERSHIP; HILTON CUSTOMERS TO RECEIVE HHONORS POINTS WHEN RENTING WITH ALAMO

 FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Alamo Rent A Car, the largest independently owned and operated car rental company in the U.S., announced a new partnership with Hilton Hotel Corporation which enables customers to earn Hilton HHonors points when renting an Alamo car. As part of the program, a client renting a car at Alamo and staying at a Hilton property will earn 250 HHonors points that can be converted into nights at Hilton, Alamo rentals or airline frequent flier miles.
 "Once again, Alamo is sending a message to the corporate traveler that we are a serious player in the marketplace," said Bob Coffey, Alamo's vice president of marketing. "Alamo is proud to be working together with the Hilton Corporation, a leader in the hotel industry."
 Hilton representatives are also enthusiastic about the partnership. "We're both broadening our scopes," commented Jeff Diskin, Hilton's director of business programs. "This relationship enables both companies to expand their customer base, and it enables our customers to reap the rewards."
 As an added incentive, Alamo and Hilton will both offer frequent flier miles to clients who book with their airline partners: Delta, United and USAir. For example, a client who books with Alamo, Hilton and an airline partner would receive HHonors points from Hilton, HHonors points from Alamo, HHonors points for flying with the airline partner, frequent flier miles from Hilton, frequent flier miles from Alamo and frequent flier miles from the airline.
 The Hilton HHonors program, which was introduced in 1988, enables Hilton customers to earn a variety of rewards including Hilton hotel stays, airline tickets, cruises and gift merchandise. Customers with as few as 5,000 HHonors points can begin redeeming them for rewards.
 Alamo currently serves over 10 million travelers a year through 111 high-volume locations in the United States, plus 29 international locations in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Ireland and The Netherlands.
 Alamo was the first major car rental firm in the country to move to a logo-free fleet nationwide and to provide every renter with a Traveler's Safety Alert.
