AKTRIN sees growth in store for North American furniture sales.

The U.S. residential furniture and bedding industry is completing a slow-growth year, but has reason for holding brighter prospects for 2004. The Canadian furniture and bedding market, at retail prices, is expected to grow by 9.3% this year to $9.2 billion (Can.) and by 5.3% next year to $9.7 billion (Can.). "Assuming continued positive economic growth," AKTRIN says, "the Canadian furniture market is likely to exceed the $10 billion mark in 2005."
