The Serial Digital Interface (SDI), standardized in ITU-R BT.656 and SMPTE 259M, is a digital video interface used for broadcast-grade video.
 (SD-SDI) and High Definition Serial Digital Interface (HD-SDI) video interface and conversion products. HOTLink II transceivers are the only integrated SERDES available on the market to enable both SD and HD video applications in a single device.

The CYV15G0101DXB meets both SMPTE 259M (270Mbps) and SMPTE 292M (1.485Gbps) digital television broadcast speeds, as well as the DVB-ASI (270Mbps) video transport standard. In addition, HOTLink II transceivers are compliant with common storage and datacom standards including ESCON (Enterprise Systems CONnection) An IBM S/390 fiber-optic channel that transfers 17 Mbytes/sec over distances up to 60 km depending on connection type. ESCON allows peripheral devices to be located across large campuses and metropolitan areas. , Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet.

Cypress's highly integrated HOTLink II video transceivers are some of the most flexible on the market, offering a wide operating range (0.2 - 1.5Gbps), bypassable 8B/10B encoding, and redundant outputs and selectable inputs. Each HOTLink II device integrates transmit, receive, and bypassable encoder/decoder (ENDEC) functionality in a single-chip solution.

The single channel HOTLink II devices are available now in a 100-ball BGA (Ball Grid Array) A popular surface mount chip package that uses a grid of solder balls as its connectors. Available in plastic and ceramic varieties, BGA is noted for its compact size, high lead count and low inductance, which allows lower voltages to be used. .

Kona HD is a PCI-based high-definition capture card offering 10-bit uncompressed HD capture and support for applications that run on QuickTime, such as Apple Final Cut Pro and Adobe After Effects.
