In his 77 years at the helm, A.J. Richard built the company into a 10-store chain on Long Island and in Queens. It now has 49 stores in New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of and New Jersey pulling in $1 billion sales yearly. Peter Christian Richard opened his hardware store at the turn of the century. His son, A-J A-J Anti-Jam Richard took over the business in 1947. A-J Richard and his two sons, began to sell new appliances, such as TV's, washing machines, refrigerators and other home appliances as they became popular. A.J. Richard is survived by sons, Peter II, of Huntington, and Gary, of Islip, and their wives, Nancy and Maria; and by eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. His wife, Victoria, died in 1997. |
