AIRTIME ENDS IN JAIL TIME.

Byline: RICK COCA

Imagine his surprise when a California parole agent turned on his television a few days ago and saw one of his charges on the "Today" show, telling the world O.J. His agent never heard from him.

And now -- unlike Simpson, who posted bail Wednesday and was released -- Beardsley, 46, is sitting in a Las Vegas jail awaiting extradition to California.

In a case that's growing wackier by the minute, Beardsley, currently on parole for a stalking conviction, was arrested without incident by U.S. marshals at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Luxor Hotel The Luxor Hotel is a hotel and casino located on the famed Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada (but like many other hotels on the Strip it uses a Las Vegas address) and was one of the resort city's first fully-themed megaresorts.  and Casino, authorities said.

He was paroled in March 2006 and was scheduled to be discharged from parole in March 2009. A warrant was issued for his arrest Saturday for violating his parole.

Beardsley was booked at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas. Classified a high-control parolee, he requires the maximum level of supervision, authorities said.

The terms of his parole require that in addition to getting permission to leave the state, Beardsley can't travel more than 50 miles from his residence or be absent from his county of residence for more than 48 hours without permission, said Seth Unger, spokesman for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

He couldn't explain why Beardsley agreed to go on national television while apparently violating the terms of his parole.
