AIRPORT COMMISSION TO WEIGH NOISE LIMITATIONS AT VAN NUYS.

Life may grow a little quieter around Van Nuys Airport Van Nuys Airport (IATA: VNY, ICAO: KVNY, FAA LID: VNY) is a public airport located in Van Nuys, California in the San Fernando Valley, within the Los Angeles city limits. .

The commission is expected to extend the night departure curfew for noisy jets by one hour from 11 p.m. to 10 p.m. and to adopt a rule that prohibits adding any ``Stage 2'' jets, which have sound prints that exceed 77 decibels.

``I think this is the biggest, most positive step this department has made in reducing and controlling noise at Van Nuys Airport,'' said Jack Driscoll, executive director of the city Airports Department.

He said the new rules will provide for attrition Attrition
