Great-grandmother Mary Renfrew, 73, was reading when the weapon was fired through her window four times. She said: "It was very frightening and it is disgusting someone could do something like this. It could have been very serious." The attack happened in Paisley Paisley (pāz`lē), town (1991 pop. 84,330), Renfrewshire, W Scotland, on the White Cart Water, a stream. It has a thriving textile industry and is an extremely large producer of thread. last Thursday at around 3.10am. Mary, a widow who suffers from arthritis and walks with a stick, believes she was singled out. She said: "My house was the only one with a light on and it seems they deliberately targeted me. "I could have been blinded or worse in the attack. I am so angry." The retired cleaner has been traumatised by the incident. She added: "I am frightened to go out after dark. I do not like living on my own any more. "There are a lot of pensioners who live in the flats here and we just don't know if the gunmen are going to try it again."
