In a separate transaction, Airgas announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to sell its calcium carbide and carbon products manufacturing operations to Elkem Metals Company L.P., a subsidiary of Elkem ASA Asa (ā`sə), in the Bible, king of Judah, son and successor of Abijah.
