AGUA DULCE Agua Dulce is Spanish for "sweet water". It also refers to various locations:

The small event, bringing 12 to 15 planes and co-hosted by the California State representatives for Cessna 140 and Cessna 170 organizations, comes on the heels of a packed county Regional Planning regional planning: see city planning.  Commission public hearing on Jan. 22 in Acton.

Residents voiced their concerns through e-mails to county officials, who looked into the matter on Tuesday, and found that the event fits within the current permit's guidelines.

Air park owner Barry Kirshner could not be reached Tuesday for comment.

``I think based on the description of the event, it sounds like a normal operation,'' said Samuel Dea, a regional planning assistant. ``The timing is not good, it's ill-suited. But if you look at it, it's not a last-minute event that pilots put together.''

County permits for the small airport go back to 1959 and likely need updating, county officials have said. Dea said another public hearing on whether the permits should be modified or revoked will be held on March 16.

Revoking a permit is rarely done, county officials have said.

``The direction the commission has indicated is toward some sort of agreement that the applicants can work on for modification, instead of revocation The recall of some power or authority that has been granted.

Revocation by the act of a party is intentional and voluntary, such as when a person cancels a Power of Attorney that he has given or a will that he has written.

Airport owners ``are still allowed to operate until the permit is revoked or modified,'' Dea said. ``They are still allowed to operate under the existing permit.''

Modifications to the permit would help shed light on what is permitted - and not permitted - at the airport, an area that has remained gray for decades.
