AIR LIQUIDE AMERICA ANNOUNCES THREE TOP MANAGEMENT APPOINTMENTS

 WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Liquide America Corp.'s (ALAC) President and Chief Executive Officer Robert D. Cadieux announced three appointments: Kenneth W. Miller, executive vice president, ALAC; Laurence J. Altobell, vice president, ALAC, merchant gas regional operations; and Ronald L. LaBarre, vice president, ALAC, merchant gas marketing and business management.
 Miller joined Big Three Industries Inc., a subsidiary of ALAC, in 1976. He was promoted to vice president in 1978, executive vice president in 1984, and in July 1990 was named president and chief operating officer. Earlier that year he was also named vice president of ALAC.
 Altobell joined ALAC in 1990 as vice president of human resources. Prior to that he was with Schlumberger Group for 15 years and worked in a variety of management assignments in the Far East, United States and France.
 LaBarre has spent 11 years in the industrial gases business and worked in several marketing and management assignments. Recently, he was commercial director for Air Liquide's tonnage business in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg and was based at the world headquarters in Paris.

 Miller continues to work in the Houston office, and Altobell and LaBarre are based in the Walnut Creek headquarters.
