AIR FORCE SELECTS AETHER TO DEVELOP MOBILE ASSET TRACKING APPLICATION.

Aether Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:AETH) a provider of wireless data products and services, has announced the U.S. Air Force has deployed a tailored solution to track information technology assets, using synchronization components of Aether Fusion, Aether's technology foundation.

The Materiel Systems Group (MSG) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, located in Dayton, Ohio, has implemented a mobile application to manage its large corporate inventory of computers, laptops, printers, and other technology assets.

Wright-Patterson is one of the military's largest Air Force bases and the headquarters for the Air Force Materiel Command, which conducts research, development, test and evaluation, and provides acquisition management services and logistics support to keep Air Force weapons systems ready for war.

MSG selected Aether to review its tracking needs and develop and implement a mobile solution that would allow Asset Custodians to monitor the whereabouts of the military base's technology inventory.

Aether's professional services were deployed to tailor a solution to the specific requirements and needs of large corporate directorates within the command. The product called CETS (Corporate Equipment Tracking System) provides total visibility and management of corporate assets.

Currently, several Asset Custodians use Aether's mobile solution on the Palm m505 to securely access data on information technology products assigned to personnel of MSG at Wright Patterson AFB. MSG is offering the solution to many of the Air Force Materiel Command's directorates.

Based on the success of this project, the Materiel Systems Group at Wright-Patterson will be rapidly expanding the program to benefit asset managers base-wide and beyond."
