AIR FORCE BAND WILL LAUNCH VALLEY'S HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES.

Tonight's show by the Air Force's Band of the Golden West Concert Band will be followed by a parade Saturday morning in Acton, a fireworks fireworks: see pyrotechnics.

The annual Acton Independence Day parade will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday with a flyover by an F-117 stealth fighter.

The parade will roll a mile down Crown Valley Road from Aliso Street to Smith Avenue. Also featured will be food vendors and game booths, a Wild West show by the Acton Gunslingers stunt group, and hog calling and hay stacking competitions following the parade.

The Quartz Hill Walk-In Medical Clinic will host a flag-raising ceremony with live music, food and drinks and a puppet show from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in its parking lot, 42357 50th St. W.

The Lancaster JetHawks The Lancaster JetHawks are a minor league baseball team in Lancaster, California, USA. They are a Class-A Advanced team in the California League, and are a farm team of the Boston Red Sox.  will host this Independence Day's first fireworks show, which will follow Saturday's game against Rancho Cucamonga Rancho Cucamonga (răn`chō k'kəmäng`gə), city (1990 pop. 101,409), San Bernardino co., S Calif.  at Lancaster Municipal Stadium on Avenue I west of the Antelope Valley Freeway The Antelope Valley Freeway is a freeway in Los Angeles and Kern counties in southern California. It is signed as California State Highway 14 along its length. It connects Greater Los Angeles to the rapidly developing Antelope Valley. .

Gates will open at 6:15 p.m., and the game will start at 7:15. Stadium seats are sold out, but tickets still are available for lawn seating. General admission is $3 per person.

Lancaster's fireworks display is Sunday at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds n. pl. 1. same as fairground. , 155 E. Ave. I in Lancaster. Gates open at 6 p.m. Live entertainment will be provided by the country group Red Eye Ranch Band in the main grandstand, and by the Reputations on the Park Center Stage from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. The fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m.

Food concessions will be available throughout the event. Admission is free.

Palmdale will hold its fireworks show Sunday at Palmdale High School's Riewer Field, on 20th Street East north of Avenue R. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. The Bytes, a musical group from Disneyland, will perform a 90-minute show with all styles of music, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The fireworks show will begin at 9 p.m. and will include both air and ground displays and last about 25 minutes.

The city of California City, Solid Ground Foundation and the California City Community Club will host an Independence Day celebration Sunday in Central Park.

A Church in the Park observance led by the California City All Faiths Ministerial Association will begin at 10 a.m. The afternoon activities will start at 1 p.m. with skydivers performing a ``smoke jump'' into Central Park. Food and crafts vendors, live music, carnival-style games and water games will be featured. Admission is free.
