AIR FORCE BAND TO PERFORM SUNDAY.

MOJAVE - East Kern residents are invited to a free concert Sunday by the United States Air Force United States Air Force (USAF)

Major component of the U.S. military organization, with primary responsibility for air warfare, air defense, and military space research. It also provides air services in coordination with the other military branches. U.S.
 Band of the Golden West in the Mustang Gym at Mojave High School, 15732 O St.

This year's edition of the popular band's concerts is entitled American Heroes, and pays tribute to American heroes past and present. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for the free 7 p.m. concert, which is sponsored by the Mojave Chamber of Commerce and Mojave Town Council.

Capt. Douglas Monroe will conduct the band, which is based at Travis Air Force Base Travis Air Force Base (IATA: SUU, ICAO: KSUU) is a United States Air Force air base in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. Travis Air Force Base is located within Fairfield, Calif, in the northeast part of town.  south of Sacramento.

Music will include selections from Hollywood films, Broadway musicals, and current popular songs. The concert will end with a selection of popular marches and patriotic music.

Free tickets are available at Mojave Ace Hardware Gardner Realty, and Mojave Radio Shack See RadioShack. . Ticket holders who arrive before 6:50 p.m. will be given first choice of seating. Tickets are not necessary for the free performance but do ensure the best seats.

Featured performers will include guest vocalist Chief Master Sgt. Marcelle Hureau and tuba tuba (t`bə) [Lat.,=trumpet], valved brass wind musical instrument of wide conical bore.  player Airman 1st Class Roy Wimbush. A selected group of Mojave High School band members will join the band in one of its selections.

 Bush, German Helmut Kohl, and other officials. Moore also has performed at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and other international venues.
