AIR CANADA SLASHES FARES AND EXPANDS SERVICES BETWEEN FLORIDA AND CANADA
MIAMI, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Canada is offering "winter fares" between cities it serves in Florida and selected Canadian cities, that reflect discounts of over 70 percent off the regular full economy fares. Many of the airline's routes from Florida will also have added flights and capacity during the winter period between October 1992 and April 1993.
For example, a round trip fare "winter fare" between Miami and Toronto will cost $189 (Tampa-Toronto: $179) for travel that begins between Dec. 15 - Dec. 27, 1992. Good for up to 30 days including one Sunday, these fares require advance ticket purchase of 14 days. Even lower round trip fares are available for travel that begins between Dec. 31, 1992 and Jan. 27, 1993: Miami-Toronto ($177); Miami/Tampa- Montreal ($203) or Tampa-Toronto ($169). These fares are also good for 30 days and reservations must be made at least one week prior to travel.
Similar discounted fares are also available on Air Canada's frequent scheduled charter services to Canada from Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando and West Palm Beach.
Air Canada recently increased its scheduled non-stop flights between Miami and Toronto from three to four times daily on weekdays (varies on weekends) and from one to two daily between Miami and Montreal. Schedules from Tampa have also been expanded.
"Larger aircraft is being added on some routes on certain days such as a B-747 between Miami to Toronto on Saturdays," said Marc Rosenberg, Air Canada's Miami-based general manager for passenger sales for U.S. passenger sales.
Additional information and bookings are available through travel agents or by calling Air Canada, 1-800-776-3000.
