Business Editors

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 4, 2003

AIM Investments(sm) announced today a partnership with AIM Trimark Investments (AIM Trimark) to launch AIM Trimark Fund, AIM Trimark Endeavor Fund, and AIM Trimark Small Companies Fund.

Houston-based AIM Investments and Canada's AIM Trimark comprise the AIM Division of AMVESCAP PLC, one of the world's largest independent investment managers.

In this relationship, AIM Investments will distribute products managed by AIM Trimark, one of the most recognized names in fund management in Canada. The launch of these funds marks the arrival and availability of AIM Trimark's well-respected investment discipline to U.S. retail investors Retail Investor

"The investment approach of these AIM Trimark funds is highly complementary to those in our existing AIM Investments lineup A criminal investigation technique in which the police arrange a number of individuals in a row before a witness to a crime and ask the witness to identify which, if any, of the individuals committed the crime.  and furthers our efforts to build investment solutions for our clients," said Gene Needles, President of A I M Distributors, Inc.

All three funds will share a common mandate to seek long-term growth of capital, applying the same time-tested investment strategy that is best described as "business people buying businesses."

By viewing each investment as a long-term business investment as opposed to a short-term stock trade, portfolio managers of AIM Trimark ignore much of the short-term market news events that have little impact on an investment's long-term return potential. Instead, fund managers leverage their own in-depth, independent research to identify high-quality businesses that have understandable business models, strong management, defensible de·fen·si·ble
