AIIM International and IMC Combine to Create Worldwide Association for the Document Technologies Industry.


SILVER SPRING, Md./BOULDER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 1998--

Document Technologies users and vendors to be served more

effectively with combination of the world's two premier industry

associations

AIIM (Association for Information and Image Management International, Silver Spring, MD, www.aiim.org) A membership organization founded in 1943 devoted to creating industry standards and disseminating information about the document management industry.  International and IMC (Internet Mail Consortium, Santa Cruz, CA, www.imc.org) An industry trade association founded in 1996 by Paul Hoffman and Dave Crocker that promotes Internet e-mail standards and features.  today announced that the world's two premier document technology associations will combine to form a single, worldwide organization dedicated to bringing industry vendors and users together.

The new organization will be known as AIIM/IMC International.

With the expected growth of the document technologies market to reach $33 billion by the year 2002, and the rapid rate of technological change, this merger creates a single international resource to develop more effective and timely industry events, reports, studies and standards.
