AIIM Announces New Professional Recognition Program for Information Management Industry.

SILVER SPRING, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 5, 1996--The Association for Information and Image Management International (AIIM AIIM - Art Institutes International Minnesota
AIIM - Association for Information and Image Management International
AIIM - Association of Information Imaging Managers
AIIM - Automated Image Import Module
AIIM - Automated Integrated Inventory Management
AIIM - Avant Imaging & Information Management Inc.
) today announced a new program for AIIM members that will provide qualified individuals with professional recognition for accomplishments in the field of information management.

The new initiative, the AIIM Master of Information Technologies Program, will serve as a quantifiable way to acknowledge industry professionals who have contributed to the growth and advancement of the information management field.

"AIIM sees the Master of Information Technologies Program as an important way to provide industry professionals with a vehicle to enhance their own personal expertise and verify their mastery of specific technologies," said John Mancini, president of AIIM International. "Through the program, AIIM will provide these professionals with the recognition they deserve for their continuing education, industry experience and association commitment. The program will also serve participants in an employment decision-making process by documenting individual professional achievements."

The Master of Information Technologies Program will provide participants with professional recognition for activities and achievements in three main areas: education, membership participation and industry experience. The program will award points for information management technology coursework, whether completed as a student or administered as a teacher, offered by AIIM and by other industry organizations and educational providers. Participants will also earn points for published articles, speaker presentations, participation on conference panels, and for industry awards.

Program participants work towards the designation of Master of Information Technologies, which identifies the recipient as a leader whose contributions are shaping the future of the information management field. AIIM plans to expand the program to include higher levels of general recognition and subject-specific recognition later this year. Program applications are available from AIIM at (301) 587-8202 or via e-mail at aiim@aiim.org (reference the Master of Information Technologies Program).
