American International Group, Inc. (AIG) (NYSE: AIG; TYO: 8685 ) is a major American insurance corporation based in New York City.
 Inc. said it filed a universal shelf registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that would allow it to sell as much as $5.1 billion in debt securities, preferred and common stock, and other types of securities.
