AIG Names Robert S. Schimek Domestic Brokerage Group Chief Financial Officer; Robert P. Jacobson Named Vice President, Strategic Planning.

NEW YORK -- American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has announced that Robert S. Schimek will join AIG on July 25 and serve as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Domestic Brokerage Group, the leading commercial property-casualty insurance organization in the United States. He will report to Kristian P. Moor, AIG Executive Vice President, Domestic General Insurance and to Steven J. Bensinger, AIG Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Schimek succeeds Robert P. Jacobson, who has been named AIG Vice President, Strategic Planning.

Mr. Schimek joins AIG from Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he was a Partner. He brings 18 years of public accounting experience with a diverse range of financial institutions, including large firms in the insurance and mortgage banking industries. Mr. Schimek joined Deloitte in 1987, is a CPA and earned an MBA from the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Rider University in New Jersey.

As Vice President, Strategic Planning, Mr. Jacobson will work to identify and evaluate growth opportunities for AIG worldwide. He reports to Brian T. Schreiber, AIG Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning. Mr. Jacobson joined AIG in 1998 as Vice President and Deputy Comptroller focusing on special projects including mergers and acquisitions. He was named AIG Vice President, Domestic General Insurance and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Domestic Brokerage Group in 1999. He was named a Domestic Brokerage Group Executive Vice President in 2003.
