AIDS council gets a reprieve.When President Bush took office, the fate of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), either of two closely related retroviruses that invade T-helper lymphocytes and are responsible for AIDS. There are two types of HIV: HIV-1 and HIV-2. HIV-1 is responsible for the vast majority of AIDS in the United States. and AIDS became cloudy. Activists wondered aloud whether Bush would want to reauthorize an advisory body that had been created in 1995 by his Democratic predecessor, President Clinton, when its federal charter expired in July. So Greg Smiley, the designated federal official for the council, was pleasantly surprised when Health and Human Services Noun 1.
