AIDS HOSPICE SUES COUNTY.

In suing the county Tuesday, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation The AIDS Healthcare Foundation is a non profit, Los Angeles-based AIDS treatment and advocacy center. Their official founding pledge is to "provide cutting-edge medicine and advocacy, regardless of ability to pay.  alleged its funding was halved after its top officials blasted the Board of Supervisors for cutting AIDS programs funding countywide.

A county spokeswoman said attorneys could not comment on the Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  Superior Court action because they have not seen the complaint.

The outpatient, inpatient hospice for Los Angeles residents living with HIV HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), either of two closely related retroviruses that invade T-helper lymphocytes and are responsible for AIDS. But AHF alleges that the figure was halved after AHF organized demonstrations to protest a $4.8 million cut to AIDS programs countywide.

``During the months of April, May and early June 1996, AHF took out a number of full-page newspaper advertisements criticizing the spending cuts and local government officials' lack of leadership on AIDS issues,'' the complaint states.
