AICPA accelerates auto benefits.


The American American, river, 30 mi (48 km) long, rising in N central Calif. in the Sierra Nevada and flowing SW into the Sacramento River at Sacramento. The discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill (see Sutter, John Augustus) along the river in 1848 led to the California gold rush of  Institute of CPAs will launch two automobile affinity programs as early as this summer. One will offer discounts on the terms of leases and the other will offer discounts on the rates of new car loans. Jay Rothberg, AICPA AICPA

While the discount programs will be available to both AICPA and state CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000.  society members, CPAs who belong to both the Institute and a state society will get even deeper discounts. These details still are being negotiated.

The Institute already has two auto affinity programs--for insurance and for rentals.

The insurance program, offered through National General Insurance Corp., is geared toward safe drivers. CPAs with no moving violations Moving Violations is a 1985 comedy film, starring John Murray, Jennifer Tilly, Brian Backer, Sally Kellerman, and Clara Peller, directed by Neal Israel. Plot summary  or accidents in the past three years generally are charged far below prevailing rates. However, drivers with even slightly marred driving records should not expect substantially lower rates. For information, call National General at 1-800-847-2886.

The Institute offers car rental discounts through both Hertz hertz (hûrts) [for Heinrich R. Hertz], abbr. Hz, unit of frequency, equal to 1 cycle per second. The term is combined with metric prefixes to denote multiple units such as the kilohertz (1,000 Hz), megahertz (1,000,000 Hz), and gigahertz  and National. The discount depends on the car chosen and the length and time of the rental. For more information, call Hertz at 1-800-654-2200 or National at 1-800-227-7368.
