AIA hosts housing exhibition.The AIA AIA - Application Integration Architecture New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of Chapter's Center for Architecture will host a exhibition assessing past and current housing programs for people of limited income launched by the NY State Urban Development Corporation during the period 1968-1975. The exhibition will kick off June 10, 2005 with an opening program about the UDC UDC abbr. universal decimal system UDC (Brit) n abbr (= Urban District Council) → Stadtverwaltung f and the future of affordable housing at 5 pm at the Center for Architecture. An exhibition opening reception will follow at 7 pm. Featured speakers include Paul Byard, Stephen Lefkowitz and John Stainton, with Allan Talbot as moderator moderator - A person, or small group of people, who manages a moderated mailing list or Usenet newsgroup. Moderators are responsible for determining which email submissions are passed on to the list or newsgroup. (all were part of the original staff at the UDC) and Frank Braconi, Citizens Housing and Planning Council of New York. A full day symposium will be held on June 11, 2005 at The Graduate Center, CUNY CUNY City University of New York . The New York State Urban Development Corporation was launched in 1968 by Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller and headed by Edward J. Logue, a noted housing and redevelopment specialist. With the development of innovative housing programs, the UDC began a process of establishing qualitative standards for housing and the practice of creating mixed-income housing wherever it was needed. |
