AHT Corporation Reports Preliminary Q4 1999 Revenues; Company Retains Gruntal &Co., LLC As Financial Advisor.Business Editors TARRYTOWN, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 10, 2000 AHT AHT Animal Health Trust (Suffolk, England) AHT American Hairless Terrier (dog breed) AHT After Hours Trading AHT Animal Health Technician AHT Anchor Handling Tug Corporation (Nasdaq:AHTC AHTC Akademischer Hockey Und Tennis Club ) reported today that it expects its 1999 fourth-quarter revenues to total approximately $450,000. This compares to $213,000 for the third quarter in 1999. The revenues in the fourth quarter for the Company's Dr. Chart(R) laboratory product, accounting for virtually all of its total revenues, did not reach the level previously anticipated, due in large measure to the Y2K See Y2K problem and Y2K compliant. Y2K - Year 2000 preparation efforts of certain hospitals and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) during this period. Certain hospitals and IDNs with which AHT was negotiating deferred their purchase decisions until 2000 and certain other hospital-affiliated laboratories slowed installation of Dr. Chart, delaying recognition of AHT's contract backlog revenues. The Company now has approximately $1.3 million relating to relating to relate prep → concernant relating to relate prep → bezüglich +gen, mit Bezug auf +acc Dr. Chart contract backlog, which it expects to recognize in 2000. &uot; It's our belief,&uot; stated Jon Edelson, MD, Chairman, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Based on its review of these installations, management concluded that not all of these installations met the criteria for revenue recognition in the quarter. The Company expects the criteria for revenue recognition will be met during this year. &uot;As a clear indication of the potential for our business going forward,&uot; Dr. Edelson said, &uot;AHT has a substantial sales pipeline of Dr. Chart customers, many of which deferred purchase decisions to 2000 due to Y2K preparations. We expect to begin conversion of that pipeline to sales in this quarter, with announcements of these contracts beginning in this quarter. AHT is in contract negotiations with not only hospital-affiliated laboratories but also with national laboratories and national distribution channels that can provide our Company with access to physician desktops.&uot; @Rx(TM) Prescription Management Service &uot;On the prescription side of our business,&uot; Dr. Edelson said, &uot;the fourth quarter was an exciting one for AHT. We launched what we believe is the industry's first Internet prescription management service, @Rx, and promptly followed that launch by signing contracts for transaction-based business with leading national companies such as Merck-Medco Managed Care, drugstore.com, and PlanetRx.com. And last month, @Rx transmitted the nation's first electronic prescription to an online pharmacy adj. While still small, the royalties the Company received for its patents increased substantially in the fourth quarter from the previous period. We believe @Rx and AHT's patents will contribute an increasing portion of our Company's overall revenues beginning in 2000.&uot; 2000 Revenue Target &uot;Given the pace of business activity so far this year for our Dr. Chart product and the increasing traction for @Rx, we believe the Company's 2000 revenue target of between $8 million and $8.5 million is achievable,&uot; Dr. Edelson stated. &uot;We base that assessment, in part, on approximately $1.3 million of contract backlog and our sales pipeline to date of approximately $4.7 million that represents advanced discussions and contract negotiations. Importantly, we believe the transaction-based platform of our products, combined with the national customers and national distribution channels that are secured and installed in 2000, have every potential to yield significant revenue growth for AHT in 2001.&uot; Gruntal &Co., LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.
