Dec. 12-Feb. 12, 2000: ``Les Miserables'' - The Alain Boublil/Claude Schonberg musical based on Victor Hugo's sprawling novel of revolutionary France returns for the winter holidays. Feb. 23-April 8, 2000: Another Boublil/Schonberg collaboration, based on the 16th-century legend of a soldier who arrives in a small French village claiming to be a native son who disappeared seven years earlier. The legend of Martin Guerre inspired the 1982 film ``The Return of Martin Guerre,'' starring Gerard Depardieu, as well as the 1993 film ``Sommersby'' with Richard Gere and Jodie Foster. May 3-June 18, 2000: ``The Scarlet Pimpernel'' - Nan Knighton (book and lyrics) and Frank Wildhorn (music) adapt the classic story of an elusive hero who rescues innocent victims from the Reign of Terror Reign of Terror, 1793–94, period of the French Revolution characterized by a wave of executions of presumed enemies of the state. Directed by the Committee of Public Safety, the Revolutionary government's Terror was essentially a war dictatorship, instituted to during the French Revolution. This will be the revamped version of the Broadway show, which replaced an earlier version.
