She'll be signing copies of her tell-all-in-pictures tome ``Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue-in-Chic Peek Beyond the Pose'' at 6 p.m.

In the men's department, to be specific.

``She'll sign 1,000 copies,'' said co-manager Eduardo Nava. ``It's going to be fun. Of course, there's no pictures, no video allowed, but we'll make it nice for the people who come to see her and for her to sign.''

Nava said the last celebrity book signing at the store was disgraced major leaguer Pete Rose
Peter Edward "Pete" Rose, Sr. (born April 14, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio), nicknamed Charlie Hustle, is a former player and manager in Major League Baseball. Rose played from 1963 to 1986, best known for his many years with the Cincinnati Reds.
. People began lining up for his appearance at 9 a.m., even though the author/former baseball player wasn't scheduled until the evening.

``We always try to make it a pleasant experience for the fans and customers who are shopping during the experience, as well as for our guests,'' said Wal-Mart spokeswoman Karen Burk. ``We make sure it's a safe situation and that we can continue to take care of business, but offer everyone involved a fun experience.

``We have a variety of people who come in and do book signings,'' Burk continued. ``We certainly think Paris Hilton is someone who will entertain our customers and be a draw for the store.''

Hilton's book promises to be full of advice for the wannabe rich. An excerpt from the first chapter, ``How to Be an Heiress,'' reads:

``Never wear the same thing twice if you're photographed in it. People will say you only have one outfit - and that's annoying. If you're happy, wear pink. If you're depressed - or going to a black-tie event - wear black.''

    Good advice.

``The Tinkerbelle Hilton Diaries: My Life Tailing Paris Hilton,'' apparently ghostwritten Ghostwritten is the first novel published by the author David Mitchell. Published in 1999, it won the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize and was widely acclaimed. The story takes place mainly around East Asia, but also moves through Russia, Britain and the USA.  by Paris's pup, Tinkerbelle, is available online at www.walmart.com. Paris Hilton last made big news when she was reunited with the Chihuahua after it was lost - or perhaps kidnapped.
