AH&LA Praises Tentative New York City Labor Agreement; Urges the Union and Hilton to Reach an Agreement Soon.


WASHINGTON -- The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) commends the Hotel Association of New York City New York City: see New York, city.

"I want to congratulate both these groups for coming together and reaching a fair agreement that continues to recognize the valuable contributions of New York City hotel employees," said AH&LA President/CEO, Joseph McInerney, CHA. "Our position has always been that local problems require local solutions, and this agreement is an example of putting that into practice."

The board of directors of the Hotel Association ratified the agreement today, and it will be voted on by the Union's membership on Thursday, June 22. The membership is expected to overwhelmingly ratify the deal. The tentative agreement will cover more than 100 hotels in the city, but does not include the Hilton Hotels Corporation Hilton Hotels Corporation (NYSE: HLT) is one of the leading global hospitality companies. As of April 2007 there are 2,645 hotels and 485,000 rooms employing 105,000 people in more than 80 countries. .
