AGRI-NUTRITION GROUP REPORTS SECOND QUARTER RESULTS.

) today announced financial results for the quarter and six months ended April 30, 1996.

Higher margin specialty product sales increased by 76.3% to $7.7 million, or 83.1% of total sales for the second quarter of 1996, versus $4.4 million, or 76.1% of total sales in the same quarter of last year.  was $149,000 versus a loss of $55,000 last year. Net income for the second quarter of 1996 was $32,000 compared with net income of $118,000 for the year earlier period due primarily to increased net interest and tax expense in the current quarter.

For the six months ended April 30, 1996, net sales were $17.6 million, a 45.2% increase over net sales of $12.1 million for the year-earlier period. Gross profit for the six months ended April 30, 1996, was $3.6 million, a 179.5% increase over the prior year's $1.3 million. The Company's loss from operations of $78,000 improved over last year's loss of $274,000. Net loss for the first half of 1996 was $144,000 compared with net income of $8,000 for the year-earlier period.

Agri-Nutrition Group Limited was founded in 1993 to acquire and operate businesses in the domestic and international food, agriculture and pet industries. The Company has acquired and now operates three companies; PM Resources, Inc., Zema Corporation and St. JON Laboratories, Inc., which companies produce or market a wide variety of nutritional, health and grooming Combining, consolidating and segregating network traffic using devices such as digital cross-connects, add/drop multiplexers and SONET switches.
